Sounak Chakrabarti

I'm a passionate engineer and researcher with expertise in autonomous systems, acoustics ml, and advanced technologies. Recently worked at NIWC (Naval Information Warfare Center) Pacific on defense research and development projects involving information warfare and cybersecurity.

My background spans government contracting and research institutions, where I've developed solutions in autonomous robotic systems, data analysis, and scientific machine learning. I'm continuously exploring emerging technologies and their practical applications in defense, climate tech, and AI/ML domains.

Recent Activities

February 2025 Started R&D + T&E job as an ND3 Mechanical Engineer at NIWC Pacific on advanced defense systems and information warfare technologies.
October 2024 Published a first author paper in Applied AI Letters for the first time and completed the Masters thesis!
September 2024 Completed second internship at NIWC's UMV Lab building and testing marine robots for collaborative sensing applications to understand their practical implementations in defense and communication systems.
